2011
The three
houses on the left, I put up in 1988. The Trio Castle on the right I put up maybe one year later. The houses on the left is
made by Nature House, they are aluminum, in the 23 years that they have been up, they are holding up excellent.
You can see that I added two Bo9 gourds. The other
gourds are some no name but the martins seem to like them. When its all said and done, I will replace all of the old gourds
with Bo9s.
This is my repeating sparrow trap that I bought online. It was
$59 plus shipping. It is very effective in trapping sparrows. To be a successful landlord, you must and I repeat, you must
trap and kill sparrows and starlings. There is no ifs, ans or butts about it. If you don't like to kill the sparrows or
starlings, you can take them 30 miles away and let them go.
The pole system on the left I built back in 1988. It is
a very heavy duty unit. It has held up well, makes tending to the martins very easy and effortless. Next season I will
put up another pole similar to this but it will be bought and not built by me. I am also going to add about 12ish Bo9 and
Bo11 gourds on a crank up pole system, made by S&K Manufacturing near St. Louis, Mo.
I just put these two Trio 12-compartment houses up around
the first of June. My Father gave me these, he has had them for 20 years or better and couldn't get any martins.
